Occupational background: After Working as a Bus driver for NYC transit Bill joined New York's Finest the NYC Police Department. Officer Carrington earned numerous awards, merits of commendation, and media support for his exemplary work in the community before retiring after 20 years of public service. During his tenure Bill was also a Police Benevolent Association Union Delegate and a Guardians Delegate as well

Educational background: Attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice

Organizational affiliations: 100 Blacks Law Enforcement, NYCPBA, RAINBOW Push Coalition, Congressional Congress Progressive Caucus

Prior public experience: Bill sat on Bedford Stuyvesant's Community Board #3 for many years while working as a Civil Servant for over 30 years. Bill was instrumental in voting on issues that effect the community. Bill also served as President for the Aajj Malik El Shabazz Macon Street Block Association. Whether it was as a sanitation worker, bus driver police officer or a community activist, Bill has always been focused on improving life for our community
