Candidate Statement

I am a working class candidate from a family of immigrants, and a single mother with deep roots in my Bronx community. I live the same struggles as the people in City Council District 15. My grandparents immigrated to America from Sicily and Calabria in the early 1900s, and settled in the Van Nest area—where my family and I still live today. I am a passionate community leader and fierce advocate for my Van Nest community.

Whether blue collar workers, or immigrant small business owners, they want the same things: economic stability, good schools, neighborhood amenities, and safe streets. I am running for City Council to help people who live in District 15 overcome the political and systemic challenges that get in the way of achieving the things we all want for ourselves and our families. I am focused on the needs of District 15, not a political or personal agenda that won’t improve the lives of the voters who live here.
