Candidate Statement

I’m an educator, and executive director delivering free programming to 1,000 students annually. I’ve met with Senator Schumer to successfully advocate for immigrants inclusion in COVID-relief, and partnered with the Governor’s Office to successfully guarantee vaccinations wouldn’t include ICE invasions.

These are the battles we need to keep fighting. I’m running to represent District 11, which is majority working-class and people of color, and a third of us are immigrants. In this race I am a progressive endorsed by the WFP; manager leading a $1 million organization through a crisis while keeping staff employed; and the only immigrant, woman of color, and native Spanish speaker.
