1. What is the most important issue in Council District 03 you would address if elected?

Protecting existing affordable housing and creating new programs to stimulate the creation of additional affordable units throughout the city. All those who work in our communities should afford to reside in them as well.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I live 3 blocks from the former St. Vincent's Hospital site and used the emergency room on 3 separate occasions. The Lower West Side deserves a full service public hospital with a Level 1 trauma center. I testified at the City Council against the Rudin development plan to replace a 161 year institution that served our community. I believe that the absence of a hospital is a public health crisis and will continue to fight for one.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I have been endorsed by Congressman Jerry Nadler, former State Senator Tom Duane, State Senator Brad Hoylman, Assembly Member Linda B. Rosenthal, Assembly Member Dick Gottfried, the United Federation of Teachers and hundreds of local leaders. In a progressive district, as an 8 year member of Community Board 4, the past 2 as its Chair, I represent experience in this race. I have proven myself capable of working with the community, both residents and businesses, agencies and elected officials alike to best represent the interests of Greenwich Village, Chelsea and Clinton/Hell's Kitchen. I will bring that same vibrancy and commitment to all the communities of the 3rd district.
