1. What is the most important issue in Council District 14 you would address if elected?

My priority if elected to the City Council is our education system. I will help in reducing the achievement gap in our communities. We need to fund research in order to answer the pressing question of why we suffer from chronic achievement gaps here in The Bronx. I will develop programs and work in conjunction with parents to effectively reduce the school dropout rate of our middle and high school students, to ensure their high school graduation and the pursuit for higher education.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Affordable housing continues to be a top priority in the Bronx. Maintaining affordable housing is at the forefront of my agenda. I will bring financial support for green developments throughout the district. Green developments can be a major step in addressing serious health issues plaguing our community.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

For more than twenty years, while raising my four sons, I have been working as an advocate in the Bronx for better education, affordable housing, quality healthcare, civil rights, and immigrant rights. I am an independent voice that will represent our community with honesty, accountability and transparency. As your City Council Member I will continue to work closely with the community to bring solutions to the many injustices facing our community.
