Occupational background: Sebastian Ulanga was employed Direct Care Aide at Independent Living Association and a Certified Nursing Aide at St. Barnabus Nursing Home and the Adult Day Health Center (ADHC) satellite site at Beth Abraham in Greensburg, New York. This experience of work became a pivotal point in his life where he became aware of a need to be proactively involved in work that would advocate for the rights of people

Educational background: Sebastian Ulanga studied at Bronx Community College and graduated with an Associates degree in Paralegal Studies. After graduating from Bronx Community College, Sebastian Ulanga then enrolled in to Lehman College completing his studies and graduating with a Bachelors degree in Political Science. He has also taken the LAST exam and is in the process of enrolling into Law School

1. What is the most important issue in Council District 12 you would address if elected?

The most important issue in my community I will address is the toxic PCB's in our Public schools.

 

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Affordable Housing- No privatization in Coop City

Health Care- Support the Obama Health Care plan to make Health CAre a right for ALL.

Jobs- promote the creation of green collar jobs

Education- over crowding

 

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I am a well known community organizer and civic advocate in my community. I have been organizing my community to fight against a charter school with older children that will overcrowd our community's elementary school and as well as educating my community in a grass roots effort to rid our city schools from toxic PCB's in caulking building materials.
