1. What is the most important issue in Council District 11 you would address if elected?

The most important issue facing the 11th council district is the need to maintain essential services including public safety, education, transportation, parks, libraries and social services in difficult economic times. I have the knowledge and years of experience needed as our City faces reduced revenues. I have played a prominent role, during both prosperous and challenging times, in preserving and expanding essential services and producing balanced budgets. Now as we face difficult times, critical choices and careful planning is essential. I have the experience and proven ability to keep the City on a proper course.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Economic development and the maintenance and creation of jobs and healthy businesses is a key priority. My constituents need good employment opportunities throughout the City. The District also needs to have a vibrant commercial sector. City resources have to be devoted to economic development, job training and the renewal and maintenance of infrastructure.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

In these difficult times there is no substitute for experience, and I have the knowledge and experience needed to continue delivering substantial results to District 11. I have secured tens of millions in City budgets for improvements in our Community.
