As City Councilman, I plan to lower property taxes and to reform our NYC water board, which has increased water rates by 80% since 1984 in the 46th District.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I plan to tirelessly stop the assault on our local small businesses by curving the regulations and the fees incurred upon them.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

Working with the State Senate for 11 years, I've worked tirelessly with thousands of city issues, such as zoning, educational after-school programs, senior citizen assistance, quality of life and health care issues including medicaid/medicare. I've fought hard for and became close with the people of our community and intend to maintain those relationships by further improving the quality of life for the people of the 46th District.

While working for the state, I've handled issues at state, federal and city level. Over 60% of the work has been city issues working with community groups and civic organizations for quality of life improvement and solving community problems. As Director of Veteran's Affairs for the State Senator, I've dealt with many issues involving our veteran groups. I've assisted our veterans, past and present, to obtain and receive due benefits, such as medical care and other key issues. I plan to further dedicate my time to the 46th District to make certain our funding continues and assure additional funding for our community. With my experience, I am knowledgeable of how the New York State and City government process works and have used that to render assistance expeditiously in coordinating and supplying assistance for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. I am the best candidate for the 46th Council District and plan to guide our community into a brighter future.
