Candidate Statement

I am the non-establishment, progressive candidate running for State Senate in District 22 in South Brooklyn. As an award winning journalist, I built a reputation holding electeds accountable, fighting for marginalized groups, fighting against unchecked corporate interests, and promoting progressive values and progressive individuals.

My platform is focused on elevating marginalized voices, fixing the MTA, fighting for Medicare for all, and ending the rank corruption that plagues Albany. I will never accept donations from real estate developers and am committed to fighting REBNY at whatever the cost. I am not a career politician, and this is not a stepping stone in a political career: I was born here, have seen what has happened under the stewardship of the sitting state senator, have reported on the behavior of established democrats, and want to make a difference.
