Candidate Statement
I am proud to say that I have lived the American Dream. As an immigrant from the Dominican Republic, I understand the dreams and aspirations of all those, who came to this country for a better life and found one. In appreciation to all the blessings my new country afforded me, I devoted my life to its service. First in the United States Navy, where I served in the Gulf War, and then for 26 years in the New York Police Department, from which I recently retired as a lieutenant. I consider my desire to enter Congress as a continuation of my public service career.
I am running a campaign to elevate the voices of the people who are often overlooked in our political system.
