1. What is the most important issue in Council District 40 you would address if elected?

I am passionate and focused on education. Single parents and households struggling to survive need support for children to succeed. Educational experimentation and missteps must end. A "whole village" team approach that has true input from teachers, administrators, parents, private sector partners and elected officials will solve the problems. Successful models exist and should be replicated.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Jobs/job training for the today and tomorrow's world will diminish other problems associated with crime, health, and housing. I will implement a proactive approach - match employers to the district residents and assure access for residents who want training, retraining or education. I will fight for the implementation of policies that assure homeowners and tenants that they will not be pushed out. Services for seniors are inadequate in our district. Seniors deserve to live quality lives after the hard work they have put in to build our communities. Working with my elected colleagues and community leaders we can address additional issues of the environment, traffic and economic development.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

The 40th district is missing a strong voice - a proactive leader at city hall. My experience gives me the tools to be a powerful on the council. I plan to work with the progressive members there and with advisory panels in my district. Every city leader and agency will know and address the needs of our district.
