The statewide primary election is on Thursday, September 13th. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Below is information about the races and candidates for the primary election. Please note you must be a member of a party to vote in its primary.
We have provided links to the candidates’ websites, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, and YouTube channels (as available) so you can learn more about these candidates.
Due to redistricting, the boundaries of New York State Senate and Assembly districts have changed, and you may be voting in a different district this fall. New Yorkers are voting in the new districts in this year's elections, although the current districts remain in effect until the representatives you elect this fall take office in January 2013. The Center for Urban Research at the Graduate Center, CUNY offers both the old and new district maps at urbanresearchmaps.org. Enter your address, then use the pull down menu at the top right to view your old and new assembly or senate district side-by-side. You can also view the new district boundaries for the districts with primary races below by clicking the [map] link.
