1. What is the most important issue in Council District 30 you would address if elected?

As an educator, and the mother of two children in local schools, no issue is more important than strengthening New York City's education system. In the City Council, I will work to reduce class size, attract and retain the best teachers, and ensure that students master the skills of one grade before moving on to the next.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

You can count on me to protect our seniors, stop overdevelopment and to increase public safety.

My administration will hire one full time staff person to work solely on senior issues, to ensure access to government programs that include tax abatements, fresh meals on wheels, access a ride and prescription drug benefits.

Overdevelopment is taxing our infrastructure and compromising the character of our neighborhood. I will develop better building rules and regulations, and work with the city to invest proper capital funds to upgrade our substandard sewer system.

I will improve public safety and reduce crime by making sure our police and emergency services are adequately funded. I know our community needs more cops patrolling our streets and more firefighters protecting our homes.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

For over three generations, my family has been dedicated to public service, as the cousin of Congressman Joseph Crowley and the daughter of two former Council Members, I learned from a very early age the importance of community service.
