Candidate Statement

My name is Rajiv Gowda and I am seeking the 2020 Democratic Party nomination for the 23rd New York State Senate District. I am a former 1st Vice President of Local 375, DC 37, and a former delegate to both DC 37 and the Central Labor Council. I know the importance of steady work for the men and women of New York. I have lived on Staten Island for the last 25 years of my life. I know the issues that New Yorkers face on a daily basis. Staten Island has high rates of autism and asthma. I will fight for aggressively improving the air quality so that all families feel safe. We have horrid transportation issues, but my experience will allow me to approach and alleviate our problems. I will work to make our schools better and our children safer.
