Candidate Statement

I am a product of public education and public housing where I currently live in the 40 Projects also known as South Jamaica Houses. I can be the first person from public housing to be in Congress. As someone who experienced stop and frisk-- addressing police accountability is a personal issue. As well as fighting for the rights of incarcerated individuals, and reinvesting into working class communities without corporate interest. As the son of two Bangladeshi parents who also our home in the 2007 Financial Crisis, I understand first hand that NY-5 deserves working class representation.
