Candidate Statement
have lived in the Bronx all my life and I raised my family here. I have worked all of my adult life to improve our community, especially on issues relating to housing, education, and political reform. I have passed over 150 laws, including one this summer to prevent many thousands of tenant evictions as well as a law that will allow everyone to vote by absentee ballot so no one has to choose between their health and exercising their democratic right to vote. I chair the Assembly Judiciary Committee and the Bronx Delegation.
I have long fought against overdevelopment and am a strong advocate of improving and funding public transit and making it accessible to everyone. I have always stood strong to protect our parkland and the environment.
