Candidate Statement

I work for you full time: for health care; affordable housing; protecting tenants; mass transit; education; older adults; equality for women, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, & people of color; reproductive freedom; the environment & against excessive development.

My bill created the Hudson River Park.

The single-payer NY Health Act is my bill.

I intro’d the first same-sex marriage bill & I wrote GENDA (transgender rights).

As Assembly Health Committee chair, I fight for patient rights; quality home health care & nursing homes, & HIV services.

I sponsored the medical marijuana law & support adult use.

My office helps thousands with housing & other problems. We work closely with block associations & community groups.
