Candidate Statement

I’m running to build on my record of fighting for East Siders and to rebuild New York in the wake of COVID-19. I have introduced bills to stop evictions and I plan to raise revenue to fully fund our ailing public services by fighting to pass a package of bills that I sponsor to raise taxes on billionaires and corporations. I’m also focused on rescuing our local economy by introducing bills to stop struggling small businesses from being evicted and offering support to their affected landlords. As we rebuild New York’s foundations, I’m doubling down on my efforts to undo the racist systems that made COVID-19 hit hardest in communities of color. I hope to earn your vote so I can keep fighting for East Siders in Albany and in our district.
