Candidate Statement

Born & raised in a Harlem political family that taught the importance of economic, political and social empowerment for the Harlem community, I have strived to successfully fight for affordable rentals, crafted the 125th Street River to River Rezoning that included a program for affordable homeownership, funds to restore Fire Watch Tower of Marcus Garvey Park, loans converted to grants for small businesses SBS. Additionally, restoration of 125 St/12Av Riverside Park Steps, built a new Macombs Library outfitted with latest technology. August, 2020, set aside $12 million from NUL development, having negotiated for 170 residential units with AMI from 40%-80%max, no rent for 2 Historically Black Cultural Institutions to occupy.
