Organizational Affiliation
In 2001, he Founded the “Mirabal Sisters Cultural and Community Center”, a grass-root, community based organization, which has been advocating for social justice for nearly 20 years! Luis Tejada is an activist dedicated to preventing and ultimately eliminating the displacement of thousands of families by predatory landlords, the unfair closing of small businesses and the loss of jobs. He favors rezoning that benefits 100% of low-income families.

Candidate Statement
Our community needs a leadership that is not committed to the owners, with the corrupt machine that accepts campaign financing from the real estate corporations. A leadership that fights against abuses, discrimination and exclusion, lack of jobs, closing businesses and job losses, lack of resources for public schools and improving the quality of life of the elderly.
Nuestra comunidad necesita un liderazgo que no esté comprometido con los propietarios, con la maquinaria corrupta que acepta financiamiento de campañas por parte de las corporaciones inmobiliarias. Un liderazgo que luche contra los abusos, la discriminación y la exclusión, la falta de empleos, el cierre de los negocios y las pérdidas de los trabajos, la falta de recursos para las escuelas públicas y que mejore la calidad de vida de los ancianos.
