Candidate Statement
With the Trump Administration intent on attacking communities and rolling back our rights, we need an Attorney General who has the experience, skills, and passion to stand up for our rights and protect our families. As a former Assistant Attorney General, Public Defender, Council Member, and current NYC Public Advocate, I have a real record of progressive accomplishments. As Attorney General, I will take on anyone who tries to harm New Yorkers.
I have always been driven by the basic belief that the law is the most powerful and effective tool in our quest for progress and equality. I will use the full force of the Attorney General's office, and every law available, to stop Trump’s attacks on women's rights, civil rights, workers’ rights, immigrant rights, and environmental rights. I will take on powerful interests such as Wall Street, corrupt politicians, the NRA, and be a strong voice for families.
