I am the son and grandson of immigrants and grew up in working-class Queens. I want every New Yorker to have a better, more just future where ever family has the ability to secure a quality education that will lead to a well-paying job. The chance to save money to ensure a secure a retirement and help their children afford college.
We must also ensure our community remains a welcoming and safe place. New York has always been a beacon to individuals of different background and we must ensure that first- and second-generation families have every ability to succeed.
The challenges we are facing as a nation are great, but I am confident they can be met if Congress fights for hard-working Americans. I will be your champion to expand health care, create a more just criminal justice system, pass comprehensive immigration reform, and secure greater financial equality for all.
