1. What is the most important issue in Council District 11 you would address if elected?

There are many important issues facing our district. We have been particularly impacted by the recent decision to serve frozen food to seniors that rely on Meals on Wheels. Under incumbent Oliver Koppell’s watch, homebound seniors have been forced to eat “airplane” food on a daily basis. I believe that helping seniors maintain a high quality of life is the duty of the younger generation. Government officials must treat their senior constituents with the same level of care they would offer their own parents and grandparents. I will lead the fight to return fresh food to Meals on Wheels and ensure that seniors receive the City services they deserve.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

We need to create neighborhoods that address the needs of working families. Locally that means quality public schools, housing that typical New Yorkers can afford, well-maintained parks, safe streets and subways, and diverse retail options. Citywide it means creating quality jobs with health insurance for New Yorkers of different backgrounds and skills, and insisting on a fiscally responsible budget that safeguards vital public services.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

Our community faces multiple challenges every day. We deserve an elected official committed to working as hard as he can to overcome these challenges. Despite our community’s needs, incumbent Oliver Koppell, splits his time between his lucrative law practice and his responsibilities as a Councilmember. I am a committed community activist who is eager to represent our neighborhoods in the Council. When I represent the 11th City Council District, I pledge to give our community’s issues my total attention by serving as a full-time Councilmember.
