1. What is the most important issue in Council District 31 you would address if elected?

Education.

By putting in over three million dollars in education, I am investing in our future. This money has been used to purchase computers, repair roofs and classrooms. It’s a toss up of quality education or/and over development.

Over-development.

Responding to the rampant over-development of our community, I have initiated the most far reaching down-zoning efforts ever attempted in this city. I’ve hired the widely acclaimed master of down-zoning to conduct a thorough study of our District. This will enable us to change our zoning laws and thus protect us from unscrupulous developers.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

Joining with my Council colleagues, I led the fight to preserve our senior and youth programs from budgetary cutbacks. I’ve also obtained an unprecedented amount of funding for our district. My fight for adequate policing has led the police department to build and staff a Task Force in Rosedale. While this state-of-the art facility does represent a worthy step forward, we must continue to fight for a police precinct.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

Experience. Not only have we been successful in bringing home the funding, resources, and services; we have been one of the most progressive legislators in the council. From affirmative action, to the unemployed, to affordable housing; we have led the fight with proven results. This is why the people of the 31st District should send us back to finish the job.
