1. What is the most important issue in Council District 18 you would address if elected?

There are four fundamental issues that effect every single family in my district: Healthcare, Jobs, Education, and Affordable Housing. However, the single most important issue in my district is how we as a community can organize to find the solutions and answers we need regarding Healthcare, Education, Jobs, and Affordable Housing. For too long these issues have been ignored in the South Bronx. As Council Member for the 18th District my only promise has been to organize my community to fight for the changes we need. We, as a community, must stand up together and have our voices heard on the issues that affect us all. One person will never be enough – only together can we begin to address the problems we face.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

For the last two years, I have fought with hundreds of members of our community to demand safer schools, real jobs, and healthcare for all. If re-elected I will continue these struggles with the members of my community by my side. Together we have begun to tackle the issues of the safety of our children in their schools and the lack of real employment for our community – but we have more work to do and together I believe that their is no issue we can not address and no problem we can not solve.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

I believe I am the best candidate for City Council in District 18 because I know that I, as one person, cannot solve the issues that we face. I know that they only real power that I have is the power we have collectively as a community. My voice is strong but our voices raised together as one is deafening. I am not running for office because I believe that I have all of the answers rather I am running for office because I believe that WE as a community can find the solutions that will work for us. By organizing and fighting together we can change the way our schools run, we can demand real jobs for our community, and we can make sure that every single person has access to healthcare. Together there is nothing we cannot do – join me in the fight to organize our community.
