1. What is the most important issue in the Bronx you would address if elected?

The Bronx is a borough of sixty-one neighborhoods. I believe that Bronxites deserve a Borough President with the ability to address the specific needs of each community, while raising the quality of life for all. My administration’s Bronx At Work agenda is focused on developing jobs and housing, on securing business investment, and on reducing crime. Our efforts have made the Bronx the leader in the city in job growth. We have attracted over $1.1 billion in housing construction, and built over 8,500 new housing units. We have worked closely with the NYPD to launch Operation Impact to ensure that residents awake in safe, secure communities.

2. What other important issues would you address if elected?

I believe that families are the core of every neighborhood. As a father of four children, each of whom attends public school, I believe that education is the most important investment that any society can make to assure its future. That is why my office has increased education spending and secured free broadband Internet access for every school in the Bronx. Finally, my administration has directed almost $15 million to support the uplifting work of libraries, community centers, and cultural institutions. We are also working to redevelop 75 miles of Bronx waterfront, so that we might once again enjoy and protect the natural beauty and resources of our Borough.

3. What makes you the best candidate for this office?

Over the past four years, our Bronx at Work agenda has built a strong record of success. We are at work building a community where every neighborhood is clean, safe, and family-friendly. A community that provides an environment that attracts employers and business investment. My vision of The Bronx at Work has ensured that the Bronx leads the city in job creation. Crime is down, while investment in businesses and economic development are up. I believe that success is defined by how we address the day to day quality of life issues in every neighborhood. The Bronx is on the move and I have the vision, strength, and proven record to keep the Bronx growing for the next four years, and beyond.
