The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted life in our city, but democracy continues. New Yorkers' choices about their elected leaders are as important as ever. A Democratic primary for President and primary elections for Congress, State Senate, State Assembly, and Queens Borough President will be held on Tuesday, June 23. Learn more about who’s on the ballot.

Check your voter registration status and view a sample ballot by entering your address in the poll site locator.

By executive order, all New Yorkers eligible to vote on June 23 may do so by mail; in order to vote by mail, you must request your absentee ballot by June 16. If you wish to vote absentee due to the pandemic, indicate that the reason is “temporary illness” (the definition of which has been expanded to cover the threat of contracting the coronavirus). You may request your absentee ballot online to be sent to a location of your choice. The Board of Elections will also automatically mail every eligible voter an absentee ballot application to the address listed in their voter registration, which can be filled out and returned. You only need to complete the ballot request form once, using your preferred method.

Once you receive your absentee ballot, fill it in, and make sure it is postmarked by June 23 or hand delivered to a BOE office by close of polls on June 23. If mailed, the BOE must receive your absentee ballot by June 30.

You will still be able to vote in person if you prefer. The Board of Elections is working to make sure that poll sites are clean and safe. Early voting will be available from June 13 – June 21. If you choose to vote in person, we recommend voting early to take advantage of shorter wait times and less crowding. Please know that your early voting location may be different than your poll site on Election Day – look up your early voting poll site before you go!

ABOUT THE VOTER GUIDE

This official nonpartisan Voter Guide is produced by the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) to help New Yorkers make informed choices at the polls. The CFB creates an online Guide for every city election. This Guide lists all the candidates who are expected to be on the ballot at the time of publication.

The profiles and photos in this Guide were submitted to the CFB by the candidates, all of whom have affirmed that the information provided is true to the best of their knowledge. The views expressed in the candidate statements do not represent those of the CFB.

This badge will appear if a candidate is participating in the NYC Campaign Finance Program.
