I'm Cathy Bernstein, a lifelong New Yorker. I’ve lived on the UWS for the past 35 years, and am watching NYC decline again.
As a hardworking mom & CPA, I have devoted decades to helping my community through political, religious, and civic-based community groups.
NYC housing is sky high. Legislation for 10% Federal Rent Tax Deduction for families under $100,000 AGI. Eliminate the $10,000 Cap on SALT Taxes that hurt NYers & erode property value.
Compassionately help homeless move off streets/out of hotels to affordable housing, drug & alcoholic treatment, safer shelters, & psychiatric hospitalization.
Keep SHSAT, No to DOE oversight into private schools, raise cap -charter schools.
