NYC Votes and Partners Join National Effort to Register All Eligible Voters

NYC Votes is announcing a full roster of events in partnership with the YMCA of Greater New York and other organizations to celebrate National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) on Tuesday, September 26th. Other organizations joining these efforts include the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Human Resources Administration, the New York Public Interest Research Group, Dominicanos USA, the League of Women Voters of New York City and the City University of New York.
NYC Votes and the YMCA will hold a joint press conference to highlight the importance of voting, identify voter registration resources for New Yorkers, and provide details about the day's events.

National Voter Registration Day is a coordinated, nationwide effort to create awareness of voter registration opportunities prior to Election Day on November 7th. The deadline to register to vote in New York is October 13th.
On Tuesday, September 26th, 22 branches of the YMCA will have voter registration forms on site. There will be active voter registration drives at the following locations, and members of the press are encouraged to visit and interview new voters as they register for the General Election:

Summer Griffin, Youth Voter Coordinator at NYC Votes, will also be delivering a Youth Civic Engagement Workshop at Y Roads Center in Jamaica, Queens at 1:00 p.m. on the 26th.
