Tonight! NBC 4 New York Will Host Mayoral Debate between Eric Adams and Curtis Sliwa

Debate will air from 7-8 pm; Telemundo 47 will translate the debate into Spanish

Tonight, NBC 4 New York/WNBC-TV will host the first official debate for mayor in New York City's 2021 general election. The in-person debate will air from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm and originate from studios at 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Telemundo 47/WNJU-TV will translate the debate into Spanish for their audiences.

WNBC-TV is co-hosting with Telemundo 47/WNJU-TV, Politico, Citizens Budget Commission, and New York Urban League.

Candidates:

Eric Adams: “I am a bald black man, in my early 60's with brown eyes. I am wearing a blue suit, light blue tie, and a light blue shirt with a white collar."

Curtis Sliwa: "I am in my late sixties and about 6 feet tall with thinning brown hair but am known for wearing my signature Guardian Angels red beret."

Moderators:

David Ushery, WNBC Anchor: "I am a 54-year-old man who is bald wearing a grey suit, white shirt and tie."
Melissa Russo, WNBC Government Affairs Reporter: "I am a middle aged woman with fair skin, brown eyes and shoulder length blondish hair. I am wearing a reddish wool dress and tortoise shell eyeglasses."
Allan Villafaña, Telemundo 47 Anchor: "I’m a Puerto Rican male, in my mid 50’s, with brown hair. I am wearing a dark navy blue suit, white shirt and a black and gold tie."
Sally Goldenberg, POLITICO New York City Hall Bureau Chief: "I’m a 40-year-old white woman with curly brown hair and blue eyes. I am wearing an ivory blazer."

Studio description: The candidates will be standing behind clear lecterns. Behind them, white stars will be projected onto blue drapes. The moderators will be seated together at a white table directly facing the candidates.

Except for debate partners Telemundo 47/WNJU-TV and Politico New York, livestreams of the debate are not permitted. All clips should include the courtesy "WNBC-TV and the New York City Campaign Finance Board."

Criteria:
Candidates appearing in this debate have met nonpartisan, objective, and nondiscriminatory criteria in the city's Campaign Finance Act. Candidates participating in the matching funds program must participate in this debate if they meet the eligibility thresholds.

Both candidates participating in this debate have qualified for and received public matching funds for the general election totaling $6,907,617.
