During a regularly scheduled meeting, the New York City Campaign Finance Board determined that one campaign in the Council District 31 February 2013 special election and one campaign in the Council District 12 November 2012 special election committed violations.
The Board also determined that two City Council campaigns in the 2013 elections committed violations. In announcing those penalties, Board Chair Rose Gill Hearn said: “The penalties levied today against the Cumbo and Levine City Council campaigns represent only the first step in this proceeding. The Board will consider violations and penalties for the other parties to these transactions.”
