Official NYC Voter Guide to Ballot Proposals & Candidates for 2022 Election

10/19/2022

he NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB) today released New York City's official 2022 General Election Voter Guide, available online at NYCVotes.org. Early voting begins Saturday, October 29, and Election Day is on Tuesday, November 8.

The print Voter Guide is mailed to every registered voter in New York City and is available in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, and Bengali. The Guide meets accessibility standards for users with disabilities.

The guide includes information on the four proposals on the ballot this fall. Voters may vote "yes" or "no" on each proposal. The Guide contains the language that will appear on the ballot for each proposal, an easy-to-read summary, and a description of what happens if the proposal passes. Statements for and against the proposals, submitted by the public, are available in the online edition.

"This is a great opportunity for city voters to have a direct say in how our government works," said Amy Loprest, Executive Director of the New York City Campaign Finance Board. "Voters should use the Voter Guide to learn about these important proposals and then remember to flip their ballots over at the polls."

The online Guide also allows voters to meet the candidates. Voters can enter their home address to browse a list of races on their ballot. The Guide includes profiles of all candidates who submitted information to NYC Votes and were expected to be on the ballot at the time of publication. The views expressed in the candidate statements do not represent those of NYC Votes. NYC Votes, which is the voter engagement initiative of the CFB, will be promoting the Voter Guide with advertisements on bus shelters and subway stations across the city, on social media, in print, and broadcast outlets.

Voters can use the online Guide to build a voting plan for their ballot. Voters can review the candidates and proposals on their ballots, make their selections, and email or screenshot the list to take to the polls.

In addition to the candidate listings and ballot proposal information, the Voter Guide provides tools for New Yorkers to learn more about federal, state, and local elected offices, research their voter registration status, and get answers about their voting rights and eligibility.

The Voter Guide is part of the Campaign Finance Board's NYC Votes initiative to increase participation in New York City elections. The CFB creates an online voter guide for all NYC elections.

NYC Votes is the nonpartisan voter engagement initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and its Voter Assistance Advisory Committee (VAAC). In addition to promoting voter registration, participation, and civic engagement in New York City through its many programs and partnerships, NYC Votes sponsors the city’s official Debate Program and produces the citywide Voter Guide.
